When working with gears and sprockets on gearbox shafts or with rotors on electric motor shafts, LOCTITE 648 is ideal for preventing loosening caused by shock and vibration. This green, low-viscosity, high-strength anaerobic retaining compound provides reliable bonding of cylindrical assemblies, even when exposed to high temperatures. It cures on both active metals (e.g. mild steel) and passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces, and tolerates slight surface contamination from oils such as cutting, lubricating, anti-corrosion, and protective fluids without the need for an activator or cleaning agent.
